Acceptance

By using the SmoothDroid website, buying SmoothDroid, downloading SmoothDroid, or using the SmoothDroid app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or app.

What SmoothDroid is

SmoothDroid is a macOS utility for transferring files between a Mac and Android devices over local USB/MTP. It is designed for macOS 12 Monterey or newer and Android devices that expose USB File Transfer, MTP, or a compatible Android Auto transfer mode.

SmoothDroid is focused on direct wired transfer. It is not a cloud backup service, remote storage service, phone-management suite, or data-recovery service.

Purchase and license

SmoothDroid is sold as a one-time purchase for EUR 9 or USD 10 through Stripe checkout, depending on the checkout currency shown, unless another price or promotion is displayed. A purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use SmoothDroid for your own file-transfer needs.

SmoothDroid Trial is free, does not expire, and limits transfers to individual files of 5 MB or smaller. The trial may be used to verify device compatibility before purchasing the unlimited version.

If you obtain SmoothDroid through Setapp, access to that build is provided through your Setapp subscription and Setapp's terms. The Setapp build does not require a separate SmoothDroid purchase.

You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or publish the SmoothDroid app or download link. You may not reverse engineer, modify, or bypass SmoothDroid's technical protections except where allowed by law.

Updates

Your purchase includes 1 year of SmoothDroid updates from the purchase date. Updates may include fixes, compatibility improvements, and feature changes. SmoothDroid may offer additional paid updates, new versions, or different distribution options in the future.

Compatibility

Android USB/MTP behavior can vary by device, cable, macOS version, Android version, USB mode, and other Mac apps that may claim the device connection. SmoothDroid is intended to support common Android phones and devices that expose file transfer over USB/MTP, but compatibility with every device or setup is not guaranteed.

You are responsible for using a data-capable USB cable, unlocking the Android device, choosing File Transfer/MTP when prompted, and following the setup checks shown on the website or in support guidance.

Refunds and support

A free size-limited trial is available to check device compatibility before purchase. In addition to any rights you have under applicable law, paid purchases include a voluntary 14-day connection refund guarantee if SmoothDroid cannot connect to your Android device after the basic setup checks.

To request help or claim under this guarantee, email support@smoothdroid.app within 14 days of purchase. Include the email address used for the purchase or another order reference, your Mac model, macOS version, Android device brand and model, Android version, SmoothDroid version, the error or behavior you saw, and the basic setup or troubleshooting checks you completed.

We may ask reasonable follow-up questions or ask you to complete reasonable connection checks before deciding a claim under the voluntary guarantee. You must provide enough information for us to verify the purchase and assess the connection issue, and reasonably cooperate with troubleshooting while you still have access to the affected device. We may decline a claim under the voluntary guarantee if the required information is not provided, the purchase or connection issue cannot reasonably be verified, requested basic checks are refused or made impossible, the request is outside the 14-day window, the issue is unrelated to SmoothDroid connectivity, or there is evidence of abuse.

This voluntary guarantee does not exclude, restrict, or replace any mandatory cancellation, conformity, refund, or other consumer rights available under applicable law.

Your files and backups

You are responsible for the files you transfer, rename, delete, or overwrite with SmoothDroid. File operations can be destructive, especially delete, replace, rename, and interrupted transfer operations. Keep backups of important files before using any file-transfer utility.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use SmoothDroid or the website to violate the law, infringe anyone's rights, distribute malware, interfere with the service, bypass access controls, or transfer files that you do not have the right to access or move.

Third-party services and platforms

SmoothDroid relies on third-party platforms and services, including macOS, Android device USB/MTP behavior, Vercel hosting and analytics, Stripe checkout, and email providers. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

No warranties

SmoothDroid is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent allowed by law. SmoothDroid does not warrant that the app or website will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or suitable for every use case.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, SmoothDroid will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, device issues, business interruption, or substitute services. Where liability cannot be excluded, SmoothDroid's total liability will be limited to the amount you paid for SmoothDroid.

Changes

SmoothDroid may update the website, app, prices, purchase flow, download process, support process, and these terms. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date. Changes do not reduce rights that arose before the updated terms took effect. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by law.
