macOS Tahoe 26

Android file transfer on macOS Tahoe, over USB.

SmoothDroid supports macOS 12 or newer and gives Tahoe users a direct USB/MTP workflow for Android files. It is built for people who want local transfer, not cloud sync or a phone companion app.

Tahoe transfer checklist

  1. Install the current signed and notarized SmoothDroid release.
  2. Connect the Android device with a data-capable USB cable.
  3. Unlock the phone and select File Transfer, MTP, or Android Auto.
  4. Quit other apps that may claim USB devices before SmoothDroid opens the session.
  5. If the first attempt fails, reconnect the cable and retry from SmoothDroid.

Why Tahoe users still hit MTP problems

Android storage is exposed through MTP rather than as a normal Finder disk. That means the file-transfer app must open an MTP session directly, and only one process can reliably own the device interface at a time.

What SmoothDroid gives you

Browse Mac and Android storage side by side, transfer files and folders both ways, manage folders, see progress, and get clearer recovery steps when the device is blocked or unavailable.

Compatibility feedback matters

If Tahoe plus your Android device still fails, email the Mac model, macOS version, Android model, Android version, and the SmoothDroid error text. I will troubleshoot or refund within the 14-day window if setup checks do not resolve it.
